Seed financing with 1.8 Million Euros for Rendity

  • The Viennese startup enables digital real estate investments for retail and institutional investors
  • aws Gründerfonds and investment company of renowned real estate experts around Daniel Jelitzka lay the keystone for the next growth steps
  • Over € 43 million from more than 10,000 customers have been successfully transacted since the company was founded
  • Up to 7 percent return with short terms and no fees

The three founders Lukas Müller, Tobias Leodolter and Paul Brezina have achieved a remarkable coup with a seed financing of EUR 1.8 million at the start of the second coronavirus lockdown, which will have an impact far beyond Austria's borders. With the help of the start-up capital raised from aws Gründerfonds and international real estate giants such as Daniel Jelitzka and Ivan Holler, the international growth of the five-year-old company is to be significantly accelerated. Initial measures on the agenda include the further expansion of the office in Munich and the development of additional real estate investment products.

Lukas Müller, CEO of Rendity, sees ideal conditions in the current market conditions: “The growing uncertainty on the financial and capital markets is increasing investor interest in residential real estate. Our mission is to democratize the real estate market and positively change the investment culture in Central Europe as a first step. We are doing this by overcoming existing hurdles through digitalization.”

Daniel Jelitzka, Managing Partner of JP Immobilien and real estate economist, sees the digital platform for real estate investments as a promising financing instrument for the future: “The demand for mezzanine capital for real estate projects is increasing rapidly. A financing mix of debt, equity and mezzanine capital will be indispensable for real estate financing in the future. ”

Ralf Kunzmann, Managing Director of aws Gründerfonds, summarizes the reasons for the investment: “Rendity has developed disproportionately well compared to the market in recent years and is showing strong organic growth. The founding team is highly professional and very well connected. With their digital solution, they are bringing a breath of fresh air to the traditional real estate market and are targeting a broad section of the population with their offering. In this respect, they have excellent prerequisites for the further expansion of their business activities in Austria and Europe.”

Markus Jandrinitsch, Investment Manager at aws Gründerfonds, is convinced: “Real estate crowdinvesting is a fast-growing and highly dynamic market, from which Rendity stands out above all due to the superior user-friendliness of the platform and high-quality projects. In our opinion, the most important building block for the current success is certainly the team, which we absolutely trust to be able to establish Rendity as a strong international player in the sector in the future.”

Since its foundation, Rendity has financed over 80 real estate projects with an average term of 28 months and an annual return of 6.1% for investors. As a result, real estate projects in Germany and Austria with a total volume of € 455 million have been realized in recent years.
